Урок № 5: Past simple (I did)

Очень часто в простом прошедшем времени (past simple) пишется окончание — ed (regular verbs):

I work in a travel agency now. Before that I worked in a shop.

Сейчас я работаю в тур-агенстве. До этого я работал в магазине.

We invited them to our party but they decided not to come.

Мы пригласили их на нашу вечеринку, но они решили не приходить.

The police stopped me on my way home last night.

Вчера вечером по пути домой меня остановила полиция.

She passed

her examination because she studied very hard.

Она сдала свои экзамены потому что она очень усердно училась.

Но многие глаголы нерегулярны. Простое прошедшее время (past simple) не имеет окончания — ed.

Например:

Write -> wrote	Mozart wrote more than 600 pieces of music. Моцарт написал больше 600 музыкальных произведений.
See -> saw	We saw Rose in town a few days ago. Мы видели Роуз в городе несколько дней назад.
Go -> went	I went to the cinema three times last week. На прошлой неделе я трижды ходил в кинотеатр.
Shut -> shut	It was cold, so I shut the window. Было холодно, так что я закрыл окно.

Часть № 3:

В вопросах и отрицаниях мы используем did, didn’t + infinitive (enjoy, see, go и др.):

Anna: Did you go out last night?

Анна: Ты выходил вчера вечером?

Bob: Yes, I went to the cinema but I didn’t enjoy the film much.

Боб: Да, Я ходил в кино, но фильм мне не понравился.

‘When did Mr Thomas die?’ ‘About ten years ago.’

«Когда умер мистер Томас?» «Около десяти лет назад.»

They didn’t invite her to the party, so she didn’t go.

Они не пригласили ее на вечеринку, и по этому она не пришла.

‘Did you have time to write the letter?’ ‘No, I didn’t.’

«У тебя есть время написать письмо?» «Нет.»

Будьте осторожны в написании предложений, когда «do» — это основной глагол в предложении:

What did you do at the weekend? (не ‘what did you at the weekend’)

Что ты делал на выходных?

I didn’t do anything. (не ‘I didn’t anything’)

Я ничего не делал.

Часть № 4:

Прошедшее время от «be» (am, is, are) это was, were:

I, he, she, it	Was, wasn’t
We, you, they	Were, weren’t

Was	I, he, she, it?
Were	We, you, they?

Обратите внимание на то, что мы не используем «did» вместе с was, were в отрицательных и вопросительных предложениях.

I was angry because they were late. Я был зол, потому что они опоздали.

Was the weather good when you were on holiday? Когда вы были в отпуске, погода была хорошая?

They weren’t able to come because they were so busy. Они не смогли прийти, потому что они были очень заняты.

Did you go out last night or were you too tired?

Вы выходили вчера вечером или вы были слишком уставшим?

Пример:
